Disclosures
Our revenue model, affiliate relationships, and conflicts of interest.
We believe independent publications should be transparent about how they make money. Here is how exprt. operates.
Revenue sources
- Paid subscriptions — A subscription tier gives readers access to extended reviews, comparison spreadsheets, and a private research archive. This is our primary revenue source.
- Institutional research — We produce aggregated market research reports for institutional buyers (corporate procurement teams, VC portfolio services, and regional technology analysts).
- Affiliate referrals — For a small number of products, we include referral links. These are always clearly marked with an asterisk and listed at the bottom of each article.
What we do not do
- Sponsored reviews — ever
- Pay-for-placement in comparison rankings
- Vendor-funded "best of" roundups
- Gifted products or trips in exchange for coverage
- Conferences hosted by vendors we cover
Conflicts of interest
Contributors disclose any vendor relationship — current or former employment, consulting, advisory, or equity stake — at the top of any article involving that vendor. If a conflict is material, the article is reviewed by an independent editor and the conflict is stated prominently.
Affiliate relationships (current)
We currently maintain affiliate relationships with a limited number of vendors. This list is updated quarterly. Revenue from affiliate links is under 15% of total revenue and never dictates coverage decisions.
